何卓彥 CY Leo
Cy Leo is a 25-year-old chromatic harmonica virtuoso, composer, and singer-songwriter from Hong Kong. Receiving classical harmonica training from Lee Sheung-ching and Watani Yasuo, Leo’s talent in playing harmonica has given him widespread international recognition and success. Influenced by his father, PC Ho, founder of the Hong Kong Harmonica Association and the King’s Harmonica Quintet, Leo won his first award at the age of 10 at the Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival (APHF). By the age of 19, he had accumulated 17 international titles including Chromatic Harmonica Solo Champion at the World Harmonica Festival (WHF) in 2009 and 2013.
Since then Leo has always been invited to be the guest performer and adjudicator at numerous harmonica events including the Seoul International Harmonica Festival and the APHF. Leo was also invited to compose for the Test Piece Solo Category in the WHF 2017.
Besides, Leo has toured in over 40 cities as a headline harmonica soloist on 7 international cruise lines since 2016. Leo has also been invited by the HK Government to perform in over 10 cities in 2018. One of the highlights of his touring career was to perform at one of the biggest world music events, the NAMM Show 2018, in California. In the same year, Leo launched his debut performance ‘Lost In Time’ which attracted over thousands of audience and received overwhelmingly positive responses from the public. It was followed by a successful crowdfunding campaign supporting the project’s CD production, which has raised over HK$370,000. The album was later distributed across the world in collaboration with Universal Music.
Closer to home, Leo has collaborated with many A-list local HK artists including Sandy Lam, Lowell Lo, Hacken Lee, Leo Ku and Louis Koo. Leo has also appeared at two of the biggest music festivals in HK, including the 32nd Hong Kong Arts Festival and Clockenflap 2016. Recently, Leo established the Hong Kong City University Harmonica Team and is committed to enhancing the level of harmonica playing in Hong Kong.
何卓彥是名25歲的半音階口琴手、作曲家和唱作人，六歲起得李尚澄先生啟蒙，及後得日本大師和谷泰扶先生指導，藉口琴展現的天賦令他登上多個國際音樂舞台，是一顆來自香港的耀眼新星。
他的父親何百昌是香港口琴協會和英皇口琴五重奏創辦人，深受其父影響，年僅十歲就於亞太口琴節獲得首個國際獎項，至19歲已獲17個國際獎項，其中兩次分別於2009年和2013年世界口琴節獲得半音階口琴獨奏青年及指定曲目組別冠軍。
獎項以外，他不時受世界各單位邀請，於口琴節中當表演嘉賓、講師和評判，包括首爾國際口琴節、亞太口琴節、瑞士口琴協會慶典音樂會、挪威口琴節，更於2017年獲邀為世界口琴節的半音階口琴獨奏指定曲目作曲。
演岀經驗方面，自2016年起，何卓彥曾多次獲得國際郵輪的邀請作為專場獨奏者，至今已到過40多個城市演岀。至2018年， 他被香港政府邀請，代表香港到訪超過十個城市演出，另更獲邀到美國參與全球最大型音樂展覽「NAMM Show 2018」演出。同年，他舉辦首個個人音樂會《追幻時空》，三場演出共吸引了過千觀眾，大受好評。其後，他透過眾籌平台籌得逾37萬港元，製作首張個人專輯，發行全球。
